Jean X. Gao is a professor in Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Texas, Arlington. She received her Bachelor's degree from Shanghai Medical University, her Master's degree from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and his Ph.D. degree from Purdue University. Biography
George Spanoudakis (BSc, MSc and PhD) is full Professor in the School of Mathematics, Computer Science and Engineering at City University London and Director of the Research Centre on Adaptive Computing Systems (CeNACS). He is also a member of the Council of the University of Piraeus in Greece (2013-). Prior to his current posts, he had been Head of the Department of Computing at City University (2004-07) and Associate Dean for Research of the School of Informatics (2010-14). He has held visiting positions at the Universities of Crete, Essen, Malaga, and the London School of Economics and ICS-FORTH. His research interests are in the field of software systems engineering with a current focus on service and cloud computing and software systems security. Within the wider field of his research, he has published more than 140 peer-reviewed scientific papers and books and has attracted research funding in excess of €6m, including R&D projects funded by the EU, national research councils, ENISA and directly by the industry. Prof. Spanoudakis has served in the program committees of more than 170 international conferences and workshops, and has chaired/co-chaired several of them (e.g., SEKE ’06, SEKE ’07, CISIS ’11, NTMS ’14, ACG ‘14). He is also a member of the editorial boards of 10 international journals. Biography
Robert S. Laramee received a bachelors degree in physics, cum laude, from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst (ZooMass). He received a masters degree in computer science from the University of New Hampshire, Durham. He was awarded a PhD from the Vienna University of Technology (Gruess Gott TUWien), Austria at the Institute of Computer Graphics and Algorithms in 2005. From 2001 to 2006 he was a researcher at the VRVis Research Centerand a software engineer at AVL in the department of Advanced Simulation Technologies.Currently he is an Associate Professor at the Swansea University (Prifysgol Cymru Abertawe), Wales in the Department of Computer Science (Adran Gwyddor Cyfrifiadur). His research interests are in the areas of scientific visualization, information visualization, and visual analytics. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers in scientific journals and conferences.
